Buffalo has created a line of prints from the images that are available as magnet greeting cards. The prints are 5” x 7” in size.

Welcome to my website. I look forward to sharing my circuit board art with you, and through my art, sharing the beauty of my culture of origin and the land I have never left.

I was born in Española, north of Santa Fe, New Mexico and raised in the farming community of Los Luceros. My upbringing was deeply rooted in the traditions and customs of the Hispanic culture of Northern New Mexico. Because I spent the early years of my life at the parochial school on the Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo, my life experience has been enriched by Northern New Mexico’s Native American culture. Following graduation from the College of Santa Fe, I began a twenty-year career as a multi-generation, family systems therapist. Throughout my life I created art. The Santeros of northern New Mexico who arrived to the area with the Spanish Colonists created their work using the materials they had available to them - wood, animal hide, straw and pigments taken from various plants. As canned food and coffee in the can became available, often the tin was repurposed for art.

I create wallhangings, sculpture and wearable art from the salvaged materials I have readily available to me, technology, the discarded material of my generation.

I am grateful to God for the skills and talents He has given me. My hope is that others will be inspired to find ways in which discards from our technological era can be reused or repurposed.

Circuit Board Art

When I began experimenting with technological discards as an art medium, the first pieces I created were jewelry. It was during this time that I learned how work with a circuit board. By the late 1980’s I began developing a line of jewelry I named “TechnaCessories”, (“for the TechnaCentric”).

The wearable art I create include pins, bolo ties, “techna tags”/money clips and pendants. I also create special order pieces such as cuff links and earrings.

I delight in creating wearable art. Each piece has its own character and nature. The technique I learned creating wearable art was the foundation from which my skill evolved, providing me the ability to create my larger pieces of art.

Guadalupe Peep Show, a piece created during the Cyber Arte era, will be on view in The Museum of International Folk Art’s exhibition titled Staff Picks: Favorites from the Collection. The show runs from February 23rd, 2024 through August 18, 2024.

A number of the pieces I have created have been replicated for sale as magnets, greeting cards, magnet greeting cards, (a greeting card with a removable magnet), and prints. I send a special ‘thanks’ to Buffalo, (aka Joe Nickles), for his assistance with this offering. Buffalo provides the graphic design and hand-crafting of the product line. The background on the images which scroll at the top of the homepage were created by Buffalo.

A big “Thank You” to those who took the time to visit the Fronteras Del Futuro: Art In New Mexico And Beyond at The National Hispanic Cultural Center Art Museum. The show ran from March 11th, 2022 through March 12th, 2023 and was a great showing of most amazing work!
